The Tandberg Magnum 448 Tape Library is a scalable, affordable and user-friendly tape library targeted for mid-sized businesses to low-end enterprise and departmental users, offering up to 76.8TB* of compressed data storage—all in a space-saving 4U form factor—a great combination of capacity and space-saving efficiencies.
Tandberg Data understands that your data needs change over time, so we’ve created the 448 to easily scale ‘on demand’ from a 1x48 to a 4x48 tape library. Adding additional LTO tape drives can be installed while the library is still in its rack— saving you time and the need to shut the unit down while drives are added.
When you upgrade from a half height LTO-2 drive to a half height or full height LTO-3 SCSI or native fibre channel drive you can double your drive capacity and can more than triple the drive speed of half height LTO-2. Upgrading to LTO-4, SCSI or fibre channel, provides you with four times the capacity and more than triple the drive speed of LTO-2 half height.
To assist you in meeting the numerous data archiving regulations, the Magnum 448 LTO-3 and LTO-4 leverage the Write Once, Read Many (WORM) technology, which allows you to store data in a non-erasable, non-rewritable format.
Media Compatibility
The Tandberg Data Magnum libraries are compatible with industry standard, multi-sourced LTO media. To achieve the best reliability, Tandberg LTO branded and qualified data cartridges are recommended. For more information on media compatibility, click here.
