Tandberg Data is a leading global supplier and manufacturer of backup and archiving solutions, based on the RDX®, SLR™, VXA® and LTO™ technology platforms. The company offers secondary storage products based on tape drives, autoloaders, libraries, media, disk-based solutions, software and hardware components for mainstream configurations.

In November 2006, Tandberg Data acquired Exabyte Corporation. With the acquisition, Tandberg Data has doubled its size and stepped up among the major technology companies listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange. The combined product portfolio of the two companies provides customers with the full range of state-of-the-art, cost effective products and technologies to meet their needs, including Exabyte's VXA packet technology.
