Tandberg Data Announces New
StorageLoader LTO-3 HH for Mac OS X

Industry's first LTO-3 1U tape autoloader certified for the Apple market and offers enhanced performance with 3.2 TB native capacity in a compact 1U form factor

Tandberg Data (OSE: TAD), a leading global supplier of backup and archiving technologies, today announced the availability of the StorageLoader LTO-3 for the Mac OS X platform. The new StorageLoader, with its LTO-3 half-height drive, is the industry's first 1U, LTO-3 tape autoloader compatible and Apple certified with the Mac OS X platform. The new StorageLoader LTO-3 is now available through the Apple Store with a five-client license version of Dantz Retrospect Workgroup backup and recovery software, providing Apple customers a complete, feature-rich data protection solution at an affordable, entry-level price.

Fully tested and Apple Certified for compatibility with Mac Xserve and Xserve RAID to ensure reliable data protection, the StorageLoader LTO-3 provides one of the highest storage density and most efficient bulk cartridge loading LTO autoloaders today. With a low total cost of ownership and minimum down time designed into the 1U StorageLoader construction, it offers high value for small and medium-sized businesses with 6.4 TB of data storage, transfer rates up to 432 GB/hr. compressed, an integrated bar code reader, rack kit, and remote management/Ethernet. The StorageLoader, with up to eight tape cartridges, is easy to install and use, and takes up only 1U of rack space. It also introduces an ADI interface and standard WORM support for the LTO-3 tape format.
