HP ProLiant ML Servers - iSCSI Targets May Not Re-connect after Reboot

The iSCSI targets do not re-connect after a reboot of the client server. This can happen with ANY OS depending on switch settings that the multifunction NIC's are plugged into. Any type of ProLiant server with any HP NC-Series Multifunction NIC's plugged into a Cisco or any other switch with spanning tree enabled.

Symptom:

No connection to iSCSI targets after reboot of client server.

Cause:

Spanning tree does not update quickly enough for the iSCSI connection to complete.

Resolution:

Disable spanning tree and use port fast function instead.
