Tandberg Data appoints new Chief Executive Officer as Einarsson has been presented to the nominating committee to join the Board

Tandberg Data, a leading global supplier of backup and archiving technologies, today announced the appointment of Per Kristian Jacobsen, former CEO of IT Fornebu AS, as new Chief Executive Officer for the company.

The Board of Directors in Tandberg Data has today appointed Per Kristian Jacobsen (49) as the new CEO of the company. He will join the company April 1, 2007. Mr. Jacobsen replaces Gudmundur Einarsson who has been leading TAD for the last seven years. Following the takeover and successful integration of Exabyte Einarsson has informed the board that he wants to resign. Einarsson will continue to serve the company throughout 2007, to secure continuity. Einarsson has also accepted a nomination to join the Board of Tandberg Data, which will allow the company to continue to benefit from his extensive experience and insight.

Per Kristian Jacobsen was until recently the CEO of IT Fornebu AS – a business he has been managing since it was established in 2000. Jacobsen has international business experience and he has extensive knowledge of businesses focused on technology and logistics.

Gudmundur is handing over a strengthened company positioned for further growth in the data storage business. "Following the takeover of Exabyte and the successful integration of this business I feel it is time for a new type of leader to take over," comments Einarsson. "Per Kristian is a strong leader and with his experience, will be a contribution to the company."
