Veeam Backup & Replication and RDX® QuikStation™

Retrofitting physical backup tools and backup hardware in order to accommodate the needs of virtualization limits their capabilities and adds unnecessary complexity and cost. Tandberg Data’s RDX® QuikStation our iSCSI disk storage system based on our RDX technology and Veeam Backup & Replication leverages the advantages of virtualization so that you never have to recover another virtual machine from scratch or explain why backups take too long.

The RDX® QuikStation™

The RDX QuikStation is a removable disk-based storage system that combines the advantages of RDX removable disk technology with iSCSI network connectivity and storage automation in one product. With its iSCSI interface, the RDX QuikStation integrates seamlessly into virtualized environments and is a more flexible alternative to existing backup devices. The RDX QuikStation provides multiple configurations for iSCSI disk and/or tape automation.

Flexible Configurations

Configured as a disk, the RDX QuikStation drives are recognized by Veeam as removable disk devices, which enable the selection of a retention policy that specifies the number of restore points Veeam will retain on the RDX system. The RDX QuikStation can also be integrated as a Virtual Tape Library. The RDX QuikStation offers several Tape Library emulation modes to provide a backup repository for backup copies kept off-site for disaster recovery. The hybrid mode enables the RDX QuikStation to operate a primary disk and secondary tape backup repository at the same time.
