3TB and Larger RDX Cartridges Not Visible in Fixed Disk Mode

The first time a RDX cartridge 3TB or larger is inserted into a USB3 RDX dock running in Fixed Disk Mode the cartridge may not automatically be mapped to a drive letter by the operating system. This makes the drive appear inaccessible to the user.

To resolve use Disk Management to assign a drive letter:

Open "Disk Manager" by searching for "Disk Management" and selecting "Create and format hard disk partitions"

  1. Provide Administrator permissions if required
  2. Right click the volume corresponding to the RDX cartridge and select "Change drive letter and paths"
  3. Click "Add"
  4. Select the drive letter and click "OK" to add
